IN PERÚ WE WORK IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION THROUGH TWO PROJECTS.

Project 1:

Socio-emotional well-being and youth participation for the exercise of adolescents´ and young people´s rights.

We are developing training programmes and providing comprehensive support for young people and adolescents in the regions of Piura, Lima, Ayacucho, Cusco and Tacna who are in situations of risk due to violence, poverty and the precarious environments in which they grow up at the family, educational and community levels. The project aims to strengthen their capacities for leadership, community participation and policy advocacy, with a focus on adolescents’ rights and environmental stewardship. In parallel, we coordinate with other social programmes that provide access to academic support activities, sports-based initiatives, volunteering opportunities and maternal and child care spaces, in order to achieve a holistic impact on their lives.

Project 2:

Strengthening basic skills and preventing violence in public schools.

The initiative facilitates access for children and adolescents from urban-marginal and rural areas to quality, violence-free educational spaces across 28 educational institutions located in the regions of Amazonas, Arequipa, Cajamarca, Ica, La Libertad, Loreto, Moquegua, Piura, Puno, Tacna, Lima and Callao. To this end, we strengthen the capacities of teaching staff to implement early detection and response mechanisms for situations of risk affecting students, while promoting a culture of respect and positive interactions across the entire educational community. In addition, we implement actions aimed at enhancing the management of libraries and classrooms as meaningful spaces for respectful coexistence and the development of learning, with a particular focus on literacy and mathematics.
